Cookie policy
Last updated: 15/10/2026
1. Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small files a browser stores to remember information. localStorage and sessionStorage store information on your device using different technologies. Applicable rules on storing or accessing information on a device also cover those technologies.
2. YTRoulette session and preferences
ytroulette_account: a first-party session cookie for account authentication and form protection. It uses Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax without an application-defined persistent lifetime. Signing out deletes the cookie; browser session restoration may affect how long it remains.
ytroulette_theme: localStorage remembering your chosen light or dark mode until you change or remove it.
ytroulette_video_lang: localStorage remembering your requested video-language filter, separate from the interface language, until changed or removed.
ytroulette_pending_favorite: sessionStorage temporarily preserving the video you want to save while signing in; removed after saving or when the tab session ends, depending on browser behaviour.
Account sessions and requested preferences support their technical functions and are not used for behavioural advertising.
3. Google Analytics 4
The main page integrates measurement ID G-FBMYTBZ0YC. Google Analytics may use _ga to distinguish browsers and _ga_FBMYTBZ0YC to maintain session state. Google documents a default lifetime of two years, which service and browser settings can change. These are analytics technologies and are not needed to play videos or use your account.
In the index version reviewed for this policy, the Analytics tag loads directly. This information page does not itself provide an accept/reject mechanism or change that loading behaviour.
4. Third-party videos and resources
The embedded YouTube player may access or set cookies depending on its services, your Google session, preferences and browser. Names and lifetimes can vary; see Google’s linked documentation. The index loads the player when the page opens.
Videos in the WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook categories also play through YouTube; those categories do not themselves embed players from those social networks.
The design requests fonts and icons from Google Fonts and Tailwind resources from its CDN. These requests transmit technical information to those servers; connecting to a third party does not necessarily set a cookie. Buy Me a Coffee is an external link rather than an embedded payment form.
5. Consent and browser controls
Non-essential technologies require prior consent where applicable. Browsing, reading this policy or accepting account conditions does not replace that consent.
Your browser’s privacy settings let you view and delete cookies and site storage or block third-party cookies. Deleting the session cookie signs you out; clearing local storage resets preferences. Browser controls do not replace the site’s obligation to obtain consent where required.
6. Further information
See the privacy policy for controller details and data protection rights. Contact hi@ytroulette.com with questions about these technologies. Provider terms can change; this information will be reviewed when site integrations change.
